La Paz

La Paz is extremely fun and very comfortable. We're having trouble leaving!

We've been in La Paz for a week now again. We are having a hard time leaving. The weather has improved a bit, and it is just plain nice here.

Last Sunday, I took the Sula crew down to the San Jose/Cabo San Lucas airport. They had rented a car from Thrifty, and it was much less expensive for me to take them than for them to drive it one way. Also, I got to go by the Costco in Cabo San Lucas and get a cheap foam surfboard. The drive took me all day, however, as it was 2.5 hours each way, plus extra time for bathroom and drink breaks.

We thought we would leave La Paz on the day Sula left, Sunday. However, since the rental car could only be taken back on Monday, we decided to wait until then. But then we had some more grocery shopping to do on Monday, and the guys working on the varnish weren't quite done yet. Thus we decided to wait until Tuesday to leave.

However, Tuesday came and went and we weren't ready to go yet either. I had a bunch of computer stuff to do still and we couldn't leave.

Now it is Wednesday, and we're hoping to be ready to leave tomorrow. We've gotten most of what we need to get done today, except that the web site isn't updated yet. Tonight, the network is not working. Hopefully in the morning it will work and we can leave after updating.

Today I spent 2 hours on the phone (mostly on hold) trying to get Fidelity to move my 401k money over into a rollover IRA. Jeez, it is a pain in the butt. Try spending an hour on hold on a pay phone for honing your patience. While I was waiting, a gecko fell out of a tree right onto my computer keyboard!
