Nuevo Vallarta

Today we went to Nuevo Vallarta, to a place called Paradise Village. There is a marina there, and a huge resort on the beach. We played in the surf for hours with friends from other boats who came with us. We body surfed and boogie boarded most of the time. There were also two pools with some really great water slides that we enjoyed later in the day.

We left Trinity at anchor in La Cruz. The bus ride to and from was interesting. It took about an hour to go each way. The first bus we got on was fairly empty, but it filled up quickly. We doubled up kids and scrunched to make room for people getting on. After the first 40 minutes, we had to get off to change busses. The second bus was a short trip to the coast from the main highway.

When we got to Paradise Village, the security guy wouldn't let us in the complex. We had to call our friends from Last Resort (who are staying in the marina there) and have them come get us. The marina is on a little estuary where supposedly you can see crocodiles roaming.

The beach was packed with people. There must have been 1000 people out there, many of whom were playing in the surf. The water was OK but not terribly clean. We caught some good 1 - 2 foot high waves for boarding. When we go into the marina, we'll probably try to do some surfing there.
