Victoria-San Francisco
Heading out around Cape Flattery (tip of Washington sticking out into the Pacific). The weather was crappy and cold.
A closer view of the last we saw of Washington.
Fin of a Mola Mola (sunfish) that we passed on the trip down the coast. This one was more animated than the one we saw off Vancouver Island.
Gage in the cockpit under way. It's still not warm.
Gage again.
The tanker that would have run us over. This guy didn't respond to radio calls, and would have collided with us if we hadn't changed course. The wind here was blowing 35 - 40 knots.
A shot of our instruments after we got into Drake's Bay. This shows the highest wind speed we recorded was 60 knots, and at one point the boat hit 13.9 knots (we can only sail at about 8.5 knots).
View of Drake's Bay the next day before we left for San Francisco. We pulled into Drake's Bay to anchor for the night at 0055 the previous morning.
Our crew, PJ Baker with Drake's Bay in the background. PJ was a big help on the trip, taking 1/3rd of the watches.
The rocks off Pt. Reyes.
Coming into San Francisco. Hey, who's driving?!
Leif and Gage with Golden Gate. Just outside the Gate, the wind died. Go figure.

The Golden Gate from sea.

Under the Golden Gate.
