A shot of the hills close to the house we were staying in.
DSC03825.JPG
The patio outside our rooms at the house.
DSC03827.JPG
Looking into the kids' room. Our room was next door and exactly like it, with only one bed.

Looking down on the dead-end street outside the house.
DSC03829.JPG
Gage on the street.
DSC03830.JPG
Leif and Gage on the roof of the museum/house of Senor Popenoe. This (obviously very wealthy) man was the person who brought the avocado to California and the United States. He's got a signed declaration from the US Department of Agriculture attesting to the fact on display. The home is beautiful with many original works of art, many wonderfully restored.

Same direction.

A closer view.
DSC03844.JPG
Steven and Diego cooking carne asada. Diego was the 10 year old boy in the house, and was quite a character (to say the least)!
DSC03845.JPG
Diego at the grill.
DSC03850.JPG
The family's dog, Dulce. She isn't well trained yet, but is a very smart dog, with highly selective hearing.

Talita (a neighbor girl) invited us to her 9th birthday party. I can't really think of a better figure for a pinata, can you? During the pinata hitting, at one point Gage smacked Leif on the top of the head accidentally with the stick.
DSC03854.JPG
Talita got pushed into the cake by her older sister as she bent down to take a bite of the cake with her mouth. This is a birthday tradition in Guatemala.
DSC03855.JPG
Gage and Leif dive into their goodie bags.
DSC03856.JPG
Kids and adults attended the party.
DSC03857.JPG
Gage and Leif playing post-party. You can see the wet spot on Leif's head where he has been holding the ice pack.
