A cathedral in Antigua.

Looking down 5th avenue.
This was a mother's day arts and crafts fair.
A horse and carriage around the square.
Gage likes all animals, except maybe ants.

Roma taking artsy shots of doorways.
A friendly biker gang in Antigua.
Severly bored children await their shopping mothers.
The motorcycles.
Our first rain. The kids just HAD to sit out in the middle of the street (the street was closed to traffic).
Whatever.
Another doorway shot.
There must be at least a dozen ruins of churches in Antigua.
Leif on a blue wall.
Looking back at the cathedral. This is a typical street in Antigua. There aren't many signs on the buildings. You either have to know where you are going, or be surprised at each door you go into.
Artwork. A Quetzal is about 8 to a dollar. These are handmade quilts. I would have bought you all one, but didn't have room in my suitcase - so here you go....
More quilts.
Interesting artwork at a big shop.
501 ways to decorate a cross.
Interesting contrast.
A fountain near the square.
Close up of the fountain.
What the outside of the McDonald's looks like. There was one McDonald's and one Burger King in town. Other than that, there were no western influences other than clothing brands.
This Mayan marketwoman is talking on her cell phone.
Roma doorway #345
Close up of door.
Looking down the hallway of the hotel we stayed in the first two days when we were with Sula.
Outside the door to our school, Centro Linguistico International. The kids thought this door was spooky.
Doorway #346. (I'm sorry, but I really like doors)
A ruin that we passed on our walk from the school to our family's house. This one is called Nuestra Senora de Candelaria.
Another shot of the ruins of the cathedral.
Close up. The cathedral was built back in the 1500's. The plaster over the brick is interesting.
Door details.
Big bamboo.
Mayan whistle sculptures.
A Mayan ceremonial costume.
